Carey Mulligan cracks up as she chats with Jimmy Kimmel on an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live airing Thursday (April 1)!
The 24-year-old actress shared what it was like to grow up in a hotel, catching up on Hollywood classics and her first impression of Pierce Brosnan, her The Greatest co-star!
“He was my Bond when we played Nintendo 64!” Carey laughed. “He was my Goldeneye…I’d seen a range of his films, so he wasn’t just Bond to me, but he kind of was.”
The Greatest opens today in limited release!
Here’s Carey Mulligan out with her new boyfriend Eddie Redmayne and OMG he is CUTE! A serious step up for Carey (though I really liked Carey & Shia LaBeouf together, Shia’s got nothing on this guy).
Eddie Redmayne is also an actor and a Brit. He was in The Other Boleyn Girl, The Yellow Handkerchief with Kristen Stewart and is in the upcoming My Week with Marilyn with Michelle Williams.
Carey Mulligan and Kristen Stewart will battle it out for a role in a Hollywood makeover of the Swedish thriller The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
Fight Club director David Fincher has signed on to revamp the flick and is eyeing the Twilight cutie and the Oscar-nominated Brit for the role of his leading lady.
The film — based on the bestsellling novel by Stieg Larsson — follows an unconventional heroine who helps a journalist track down a missing woman. The girls will go head-to-head for the coveted role, which is said to be “edgy, sexy and demanding.”
Last year, Carey nabbed a Best Actress in a Leading Role nomination for An Education, but David may have a soft spot for Kristen, whose career he helped when she co-starred
On December 15, 2009, nominations for the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards were announced. Carey Mulligan was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture—Drama for her role as Jenny in An Education. Winners will be presented at the awards show on January 17, 2010.
“We had the task of making Carey look like a 16-year-old schoolgirl who blossoms before our eyes into a beautiful young woman,” said make-up artist Lizzie Yianni Georgiou. “Carey was 22 at the time and certainly didn’t look 16.
“I always feel that although most actors wear make-up on screen, it should not be so visible to the viewer, especially in the scenes before she blossoms. I feel we achieved that. The Audrey Hepburn look was also achieved with the same foundations, applied in a different way— eyelashes, eyeliner, mascara, more prominent lipstick and a sophisticated hairstyle.”
