Nicole Kidman has revealed that she jumped at the opportunity to play war correspondent Martha Gellhorn in a new TV film. British actor Clive Owen, 47 , costars as writer Ernest Hemingway in "Hemingway And Gellhorn", which tells the story of their affair. Gellhorn became the muse and third wife of Hemingway, the author of "For Whom The Bell Tolls", after they met in the late 30s, but her strong will led to a divorce in 1945.
He took his life at the age of 61 in 1961 and she followed suit in 1998, aged 89. "I LOVE women who defy the odds and burn bright," the actress was qouted as saying. The movie is scheduled for release in May.
