Aamir's Test By Fire

Aamir Khan has always been known perfectionist . On Monday evening , a fire broke out on the set of his reality TV show at Vaundavan Studio, Madh Island. While this surely was an unprecedented setback, the actor had already in place an emergency plan to tackle the situation. We learnt that the actor had hired a team of four, who were specially trained to handle such emergencies to minimize casualties in the event of fire.

Director Jolie?

Angeline Jolie says she won't mind giving up acting and going behind the camera forever, if she doesn't get impressive acting offers. "I still Love acting - if I can find those roles that matter. But if I don't, it's nice to be able to shine the spotlight on another actress you think is extremely talented and give her the spotlight," she was quoted Jolie as saying. The 36-year-old made her directorial debut with movie "In the Land of Blood and Honey", which has attracted a lot of controversy.

Amy Opposite Charan

Amy Jackson is playing one of the two female leads opposite Ram Charan Tej in "Yevadu", director by vamsi paidipalli, that also stars Samantha. "The two actresses are confirmed and we'll start shooting from February 13," says producer Dil Raju. Interestingly, Amy is playing the same character (Jessi) that was popularized by Samantha in "yeh Maya Chesave", in the Bollywood remake, "Ek Deewana Tha".

Lara Has A Baby Girl

Lara Dutta and Mahesh Bhupathi became proud parents of a baby girl on January 20. And papa Mahesh was the first to announce this on Twitter saying , "Its a Girl!!!!! @Duttalara. I LOVE u....(sic)" His first gift to his child perhaps was the match that he won at the Australian Open on the same day.

Scorpion In India

Rudolf Schenker , lead singer of Scorpions has arrived in India with wife Tatjana Schenker. The band was to be part of the Superstars XI football league at Kolkata on Sunday, but now, since the match has been postponded to January 22 and shifted to Sikkim, Rudolf and wife headed to Goa. Sunil Hamal, the organiser of the event, toldus, "They wanted to visit Goa. They'll be staying in Goa till January 20, and then will come to sikkim."

Oprah's Arrived

Oprah Winfrey's already had her dirst brush with Indian culture, and how. The talk show queen made a hush-hush entry to India yesterday morning, arriving at Mumbai in her private jet. Within half-an-hour of landing, Oprah was at the five-star hotel where she will be staying. We learnt that Parmeshwar Godrej, who was supposed to be hosting a party for her last night, was the one who planned her welcome at the hotel. Visually impaired children from an NGO, the happy Home And School For The Blind, sang a song in Sanskrit for her, and according to sources, she was "blown away" by their singing.

Barbie To Go Bald?

BARBIE may go in for a makeover, if an online campaign has its way. The doll may soon go bald in support of children affected by cancer. The "hair-free" doll is the idea of two American women who want to create awareness for children with the disease, a website reported. Rebecca Sypin and Jane Bingham have launched a Facebook page - "Beautifull and Bald Barbie! Let's see if we can get it made." Mattel has not commented publicly on the doll proposal.

Lindsay As Liz Taylor ?

Lindsay Lohan is reportedly in talks to play a young Elizabeth Taylor in an upcomming movie. Bosses at America's Lifetime Network have been working on a film tentatively titled "Elizabeth & Richard: A love Story" .
             Lohan,25,has been discussing the lead role with the heads , reports a website. The film will reportedly focus on the love affair between Taylor and Richard Burton . The celebrity couple split in 1974 after 10 years as husband and wife, before marrying again in 1975 - the second  union lasted just a year.

Karan Johar recently received a marraige proposal from a Delhi-based businessman for his daughter. Says a source , "Karan Johar was in Delhi recently, and the girl met him at an event. She fell for KJo at first sight and told her daddy that she wanted to marry him. Last week, the buissnessman sent a formal proposal, along with girl's pictures to Karan's office. Being an eligibale bachelor, Karan has received marriage proposals before, but this is the first time that he has got the girl's pictures also."
          "His friends are highly amused and can't help but rib him."

FOR THE GIRL CHILD : RANBIR KAPOOR

After voicing concern for conservation of water, has now lent his support to a another initiative -
saving and empowering the girl child. The "Rockstar" actor has joined hands with actress and socail activist Shabana Azmi for the cause by becoming a goodwill ambassador of her NGO, Mijwan Welfare Society .
The son of Rishi and Neetu Kapoor, Ranbir also has an elder sister, Riddhima, and says in his home, she was always given an extra edge over him. "I think that is how every Indian family should bring up their children," said the 29-year-old.

CUSTOM DENIAL : DIA MIRZA

 

 DIA MIRZA has rubbished reports that she was fined for carrying undeclared items worth 2,00,000 rs upon her arrival at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai.

According to a report, the actress landed at the airport at around 2am on Saturday from Bangkok by a Thai Airways flight , and was asked to pay a fine of over 1,00,000 rs for goods like cosmetics and branded purses. "For those that are running unverified news about me please be informed that I was not questioned by customs for undeclared jewellery. False (sic)," Dia tweeted
